Who & Why is Hannah?

Hanergy

We all show up to our days, to our jobs, to the places we go, with different stories and conditions.  Different experiences and conditions in our bodies.  Different experiences and conditions in our minds.

Have you ever wondered if despite our different conditions, at the beginning and end of the day we all just might benefit from the same simple things?

The dynamic of my family has been a huge catalyst for me. Two sisters, a brother with cerebral palsy, and a single mother who at one point or another faced homelessness, drug addiction, owning a small business and fighting multiple cancers with a vengeance. A father who struggled with severe mental illness and addiction whom I lost tragically and unexpectedly. His death being on my yoga teaching anniversary was very auspicious to me. Three weeks later my mother took her last breath in my arms. The different challenges of these difficult, but love-filled relationships I have turned into a vessel to share compassion and awareness with others; especially those in a great deal of pain.

Yoga and the tools it provides are a playful and meaningful way for me to share what I have learned in my life’s encounters.

Regardless of conditions, experiences, and stories- the practice of yoga has been shown to improve one’s overall quality of life. After all, don’t they say it’s not the years in your life that count, but rather the life in your years?

My purpose is to encourage curiosity in everyone and anyone to find the mental place inside that will promote fuller breaths of life and ease in their bodies.

A variety of knowledge in yoga applications: being a lifelong athlete who found yoga as a competitive swimmer, to vast hands-on experience in healthcare, to now a hobby triathlete, scuba diver, and outdoor explorer of all kinds. Who are we without labels, diagnosis’ and conditions? Navigating my own scoliosis, arthritis, and autoimmune concerns- I flourish in creating a safe yoga and movement practice no matter what underlying conditions, and aim to help everyone realize that we are all yogis, unconditional.
