“A spark can set a whole forest on fire. Just a spark. Save it.”
-Charles Bukowski
In 2018 I was diagnosed with systemic arthritis after a knee fracture. Many breakdowns and relentless research later, especially on inflammation, I was able to complete a bucket-list item of doing a Half-Ironman without knee pain. Let’s talk minds, bodies, health and longevity science.
Many clinical studies have been done on the effects of yoga and inflammatory markers in the body: Biological Research for Nursing, Brain, Behavior, Immunity, & Health, and countless others. These studies found that regular yoga practice was associated with reduced levels of inflammatory markers. Inflammation is a natural process in the body, as a response to injury. Increased inflammatory markers are associated with many chronic diseases, shorter lifespan, and decreased quality of life.
